Technology exists to make our lives easier. IT is no exception. Applying digital tools to eliminate mundane tasks or to make them more exciting enriches the world we live in. Virtual systems and tools are perfect for this, since they are only limited by the imagination of their designer. Taking part in creating these solutions, to innovate and solve real problems in order to make a positive contribution to people's daily lives is my passion.

My name is Thijs Franck. I was born on the 9th of February 1992, in the city of Deventer, the Netherlands. I recently graduated cum laude with an MSc. in Business Information Technology from the University of Twente. I currently work as a consultant with Wipro in the field of Enterprise Architecture for the manufacturing industry, especially with regards to Smart Manufacturing/Industry 4.0. Recently, I moved to Arnhem for my first job. In my spare time, I like playing video games and spending time with friends and family.

Wipro Ltd.

October 2016 - Present

Currently, I work as an associate consultant (full-time) with Wipro Ltd., Smart Manufacturing division. I help manufacturing companies adopt the benefits of Smart Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) by applying enterprise architecture to their transformative projects. I do so by charting complex organizational structures and showing how IT systems support that organization. This insight helps simplify (IT-related) projects, reducing associated risks and costs. The research I did as a graduate student with Wipro forms the basis for some of my current work.

Project started in February, April 2016 - October 2016

I worked as a graduate student (full-time) with Wipro Ltd., Smart Manufacturing division. My research focused on finding an integrated meta-model for modeling the enterprise architecture of Smart Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) companies. This enables them to improve productivity, quality and implement products with shortening innovation cycles by leveraging the power of the Internet of Things. As part of my research, I developed an extension to ArchiMate 3.0 (a standardized modeling language) based on another manufacturing standard called ISA-95. This extension makes it possible to fully model the enterprise architecture of a manufacturing company in ArchiMate.

September 2015 - January 2016

I participated in a full-time internship with Oracle Nederland. I was responsible for my own project, which involved automating the translation process for the Oracle Health Insurance Back Office product, as well as better integrating the process into the product's overall development cycle.

StrICTly for Business 2015

January 2015 - March 2015

During the StrICTly for Business 2015 event, I worked as part of a team of five students and two IT professionals from Radboudumc and Achmea to find an answer to a challenging problem related to participatory healthcare: "How can large patients groups be motivated to become the director of their own health?”.

January 2014 - March 2015

I started working as a student developer at OVSofware (part-time, next to my studies). My job involved developing solutions (Microsoft SharePoint 2013) for internal use. I was responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from project planning and requirements analysis to development, testing and implementation. I learned much about the dos (and don'ts) of working as part of a professional organization, as well as what it means to run a project for an extended period of time.
